CHAPTER 64 DAIRY CATTLE AND EXPERIMENTAL DAIRY

§ 64101. Experimental Dairy: Purposes.

The Department of Agriculture shall establish, maintain and operate an experimental dairy for the following purposes:

  • (a) Determination and production of dairy cattle most suitable for Guam;
  • (b) Determination of feeds and feeding methods most suitable for dairy cattle in Guam;
  • (c) Determination and demonstration of the best methods of sheltering and handling dairy cattle in Guam;
  • (d) Testing the practicality of producing dairy products commercially in Guam;
  • (e) Determination of the safest and most practicable methods of caring for and marketing fresh milk in Guam; and
  • (f) Development and distribution of information of all phases of dairying and the training of the people of Guam in dairying. SOURCE: GC § 12400 added by P.L. 3-103 (Aug. 1, 1956).

§ 64102. Dissemination of Information.

Information developed in the operation of the experimental dairy shall be furnished to residents of Guam upon request without charge. The Department of Agriculture shall give without charge to residents of Guam appropriate instructions and demonstrations for teaching the methods, techniques and knowledge found useful in all phases of dairying. § 64103. Dairy Products, Breeding Stock and Other Cattle: Sale.

Milk and other dairy products, breeding stock and other cattle produced at the dairy may be sold at prevailing market prices. All proceeds of such sales shall be promptly transmitted to the Treasurer of Guam and deposited in the General Fund. § 64104. Importation, Conditioning, and Sale of Dairy Cattle: Revolving Fund.
